It typically grows to a height of 10 20 feet and spreads 10 15 feet wide. The tree has an upright, multi stemmed growth habit with a dense crown of dark green, palmate leaves. In spring, it produces showy, bright red or orange red flowers that are arranged in a pyramidal panicle, which attract hummingbirds and butterflies.
